I'm on the hunt for new books to read and having read through Max Brooks, David Wellington, the Permuted Press collection and some of Coscom Entertainment's selections I'm trying out other publishers.

Has anyone read The Changed by B.J. Burrow? It is published by Apex.

31.10.2009. How Do You Know It’s Spring? - Откуда ты знаешь, что нынче весна?
Перевод с английского
How do you know it’s spring?

And how do you know it’s fall?

Suppose your eyes were always shut

And you couldn’t see at all,

Could you smell and hear the spring?

And could you feel the fall?

Откуда ты знаешь, что нынче весна?

А откуда ты знаешь, что осень?

Представь, что закрыты твои глаза,

И ты не видишь вовсе.

Услышишь, почувствуешь ли весну?

А сможешь почувствовать осень?

Hi guys,

I posted here almost a year back about a horror zine I was putting together. Unfortunately life got in the way and it never got made. Well, it's getting made now.

It's called 'It's Alive!' and it will probably be a one-off zine, hopefully out by February.

It's very much in the early stages at the moment, but if anybody would like to contribute that would be great.

As I'm only just getting started on it, I can't give an exact description of what I'm looking for, but I'm hoping it will turn out to be a fun and witty zine for horror fans, full of film reviews (classics, b-movies and modern), interviews and a few other horror related features such as reviews of ghost walks, the scariest places to visit in the UK, scary stories etc. Here's one of my film reviews that will be going in, to give you an idea of what to expect.

If you've got anything you think might fit in, please drop me an email to siobhanlouise@gmail.com and I'll get straight back to you.

Additionally, if you think It's Alive! sounds interesting and you want to order a copy or find out more about it, send me an email to siobhanlouise@gmail.com, or sign up to my blog for updates.

Thanks guys!

(x-posted, sorry!)

Title: American Girls
Author: Barnabas
Pairing: Dawn/original female character
Rating: R (language, violence, f/f relationship, non-explicit sexual scenes and content, and other grown-up, “R-rated”- type stuff)
Genre: romance, adventure, angst
Disclaimer: All characters from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" are property of Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy, and Twentieth-Century Fox.

Summary: Argh! I hate summaries--they always give too much away. Let’s just go with either, “The Incredibly True Adventures of a Key and Slayer in Love”, or, “If Angel can get his own spin-off, then why the hell shouldn’t Dawn have one, too?” :p

Just posted Chapter 21, which finishes off Part Two (sort of like the end of a season), so this is a perfect spot to jump on board and catch up on all the excitement that’s happened so far. ;)

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the BtVS/AtS fans out there, and especially the fellow Dawn lovers!

This week I have been mostly reading: Dying To Live (a novel of life among the undead) by Kim Paffenroth

This is one of the best zombie novels Ive read in a long time. It starts off in a fairly standard post-outbreak world where Romero model zombies are doing their apocalyptic thang but it very quickly develops the main characters and sends them to some of the darkest places Ive seen explored in zombie (or any) fiction. I had only moderate expectations for this book but I was pleased and surprised to find that its a real page turner.

Hello all! I have never posted here before but have been watching for a year or so. Currently I am writing my final paper for school on the likelihood of a zombie apocalypse and general zombie survival. I need to get opinions from real, preferably not undead, people on the subject and I thought: Who better to ask than [info]zombie_survival ? I realize here we all believe in the imminent threat of Zed, but when will he come for us?

Summary: “So we won't be training every day?” Xander asked, relief clear in his voice.
“Twice a week to begin with,” Rupert said. “Willow and I will spend one more day practicing magics and the rest will be free time, unless there's demonic activity, of course.” Ethan glanced at Rupert, wondering, not for the first time, if his lover didn't trust him alone with Xander.
